Blue diamond rings are so highly prized because their jewels have taken on mythical status ever since the famous Hope diamond, a blue diamond said to bring bad luck to its owners. Despite this, because of their rarity, blue diamond rings have never lost their popularity.
Enhanced Blue Diamonds
A cheaper alternative for blue diamond rings is made with real diamonds, but ones which have been irradiated or heated to extremely high temperatures to create a blue color on them.
You do not need to worry when buying blue diamond rings that have been enhanced in this way. The gems are perfectly safe and there is no chance of the blue color fading or rubbing off; it is permanent.
The better quality enhanced blue diamond rings, because they are actually diamonds, have the wonderful shine and brilliance you would expect, but at a lower cost because often it is poorer quality diamonds which are used.
Even so, they can be beautiful as the blue color of blue diamond rings does not call for such intense clarity of a clear diamond.
