Mikimoto pearls are what brought the beauty of pearls to ordinary people like you and me. Man made pearls have been around for well over a hundred years.

Grading Pearls
Mikimoto pearls are called flower pearls; this means they are of the highest quality grown today. Out of an entire harvest only three to five percent actually become Mikimoto pearls. That’s how fussy they are!
There are different kinds of pearls that are made from different oyster types, Akoya oysters produce akoya pearls which come in a variety of colors including green, silver and gold.
These Mikimoto pearls are known for their high shine and deep color. There are Mikimoto pearls that are man made in freshwater mussels and a pearl from Queen Conch which is a pretty pink color.
Making a Necklace
Gathering the proper size Mikimoto pearls for one full necklace can take many years because of the grading process for the perfection required. When you purchase a strand of Mikimoto pearls you are getting the best there is to offer in the world.
Culturing the Pearls
Only healthy thick shelled oysters are used to cultivate the pearls to get the high quality Mikimoto pearls. Once the nucleus around which the pearl will grow is inserted the oyster is returned to the sea and watched for the next two years.
Then it depends on the size pearl that is needed as to how much longer the Mikimoto pearls will be left to grow.

Once enough of the precious Mikimoto pearls are collected to make a necklace then they are carefully made into the beautiful luminescent strands that are admired and recognized the world over. Owning a strand of Mikimoto pearls is a pleasure every woman should experience in a lifetime.
